As fake news are the biggest threat at this time of pandemic popular messaging app ‘WhatsApp‘ has made a big move. To curb misinformation and misleading content WhatsApp has now decided to further scale down limit of it’s forwards.

WhatsApp to limit sharing of frequently forwarded messages to only one chat at a time: Statement

From now a user can send a frequently forwarded message to ‘one chat’ at a time. Earlier this number was ‘5‘. However, this limit is for frequently forwarded messages and content and not for all. The limit applies to frequently forwarded messages that have been previously forwarded five times or more. This feature would come with the latest update.

A recent report by the Delhi Police has also exposed how ‘Pakistan’ is spreading fake messages and videos. These are targeted at influencing the ‘Muslim Community’. At a time of crisis, such content is a major threat to the country. Taking cognizance of such incidents WhatsApp has taken the necessary step. Earlier WhatsApp started tagging messages with a tag of ‘“Frequently Forwarded” messages that are commonly circulated.
