Income Tax department has launched a mobile application, called AIS for Taxpayer, Know how to use and other benefits
The AIS mobile app lets taxpayers view their TDS/TCS, interest, dividend, share transaction, tax payment, income tax refund, and other information information.
New Delhi: An official statement stated on Wednesday that the Income Tax department has launched a mobile application dubbed "AIS for Taxpayer" to enable taxpayers to view their information as it appears in the Annual Information Statement (AIS) or Taxpayer Information Summary (TIS).
The mobile application AIS for Taxpayer is now available on Google Play and the App Store. The application is expected to give a complete perspective on the AIS/TIS to the citizen which shows the data gathered from different sources relating to the citizen.
The mobile app allows taxpayers to view their TDS/TCS, interest, dividend, share transaction, tax payment, income tax refund, and other information (GST Data, Foreign Remittances, etc.) information. in AIS/TIS, according to the statement.
Additionally, the taxpayer has the option and facility to provide feedback on the app's information. The taxpayer must sign up for the app with their PAN number and authenticate using the OTP sent to their mobile phone and email address registered with the e-filing portal in order to access this mobile app.
The taxpayer can simply set a four-digit PIN to access the mobile app after the authentication. It added that this is yet another initiative of the Income Tax Department aimed at enhancing taxpayer services and making compliance simpler.
