New Delhi: On Tuesday, Union Labour and Employment Minister Bhupender Yadav introduced EPFO subscribers to an e-passbook feature. The Employees' Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) released a statement stating that members will now be able to view additional account details in graphical representations. EPFO added 14.86 lakh subscribers in January 2023, according to official data.

In 63 EPFO regional offices with at least 100 employees, Yadav, who is also Chairman of the Central Board of Trustees (CBT), opened creche facilities.


In addition, the minister laid the groundwork for the regional office building in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh.

The minister approved the revised estimates for 2022-23 and the budget estimates for 2023-24 for EPFO-managed programs at the 233rd CBT meeting on Tuesday.

The board, among other things, approved the five-year prospective plan for improving EPFO's physical infrastructure. This includes spending Rs 2,200 crore on land acquisition, building construction, and special repairs.


In accordance with the EPFO@2047 vision document, the board also approved the proposal to change EPFO's status in the International Social Security Association (ISSA) from Associate Member to Affiliate Member. The EPFO would be able to expand its role in ISSA's international social security platform as a result of this.

According to the assertion, the board gave its gesture for the umbrella MoU endorsed between the EPFO and NTA (Public Testing Organization) for the direct of different assessments.

Additionally, the committee's constitution was approved by the board for the purpose of recommending changes to the 2008 Employees' Provident Fund (Officers and Employees Conditions of Service) Regulations.

According to the statement, the board also approved a proposal to invest the proceeds of ETF investments in any of the permissible categories of investments subject to the limit for that category and a proposal to extend portfolio managers' AMC.
