The Aadhaar card is India's most important identification document. Bank accounts, participation in most government programs, and other programs all require Aadhaar. Therefore, in order to avoid any problems, it is essential to update the information on this page.

A statutory body, the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) issues unique identification numbers, also known as Aadhaar numbers. Under the Aadhaar Act of 2016, the Indian government established UIDAI.

"The Aadhaar enrolment process includes visiting Enrolment Centre, filling the enrolment form, getting demographic and biometric data captured, submitting proof of Identity and address documents, before collecting acknowledgement slip containing Enrolment ID," reads a statement on the UIDAI website.

The Aadhaar enrollment highlights include:

Enrollment in Aadhaar is free.
Passport, ration card, election photo ID, and driving license are the supporting documents.
For identity verification, photo ID cards like PAN cards and government ID cards are acceptable. Water, electricity, and landline telephone bills for the past three months are also included in address-proof documents.
The Gazetted Officer/Tehsildar certificate proforma as prescribed by UIDAI is also accepted as PoI in the event that you do not have the aforementioned common proofs.

In cases where there are no documents available, residents may also seek assistance from Introducers who are available at the enrollment center.
The Registrar notifies the Introducers. For additional subtleties if it's not too much trouble, contact the workplace of the concerned Registrar.
