Google Pay's Nearby Spot now available in 35 cities
Google Pay lets users locate neighbourhood stores selling essentials through its ‘Nearby Spot’ feature.
Google Pay introduced ‘Nearby Spot’ that lets users find neighbourhood stores selling essentials. Google is expanding Nearby Spot to 35 more cities in India.
Nearby Spot is one of Google Pay’s Covid-19 tools rolled out in India. Using this feature Google Pay users can locate nearby stores that are selling essential goods. It shows if the stores are open and also their business hours. Google Pay also lets merchants add more details like social distancing measures and which items are in stock.
Google Pay’s Nearby Spot is now available in these cities - Hyderabad, Ranga Reddy, Secunderabad, Bengaluru, Mysuru, Mumbai, Nagpur, Navi Mumbai, Pimpri-Chinchwad, New Delhi, Gurugram, Faridabad, Chennai, Surat, Ahmedabad, Patna, Varanasi, Lucknow, Ghaziabad, Prayag Raj, Kanpur, Noida, Greater Noida, Visakhapatnam, Indore, Kolkata, Bhubaneswar, Ludhiana, Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, Chandigarh, Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi and Ernakulam.
On Google Pay, Nearby Spot is located under the ‘Business’ section. To use this feature you’ll have to provide your device location to Google Pay. A list of stores selling essentials, grocery, food and health care will be displayed. The stores also have Google Maps direction linked on the app. You’ll also find details like the store’s phone number here.
